How often can you bathe a dog that has really oily skin?

My dog has extremely oily skin, so he has a pretty, shiny coat. But he also stinks all the time. I've only been giving him a bath about once a month. Can I give him one more often? How often can you bathe a dog that has really oily skin?
Every 2 wks is fine...you just dont want to DRY his skin out...but if you bathe him every 2 weeks...and get an oatmeal based spray for him it will definately help with smells...How often can you bathe a dog that has really oily skin?
Dogs produce natural prodection for their skin. Want you don't want is the skin to become dry. One or twice a month. One with a flea shampoo that also cleans oil. The second one should be an oatmeal treatment shampoo. It has to stay on their coat for about 4 minutes. Oatmeal will remove the oils without drying the skin. Acctually very good for their skin.
Yeah, at least once every 2 weeks. Or more if you need to. It won't hurt him at all. Dogs love a bath.
you can give him a bath ever other week i think but ask a vet to make sure!!!! :]
Since your dog has oily skin it should be ok to give him a bath every 2 weeks or even once a week. It is good to have some of that oil on his skin but too much can stink. You may even be able to give him a bath once a week just keep an eye on his skin and be sure that it isn't starting to flake or anything after more frequent baths.
i give my puppy a bath every 2-3 weeks cause he does start to smell.
