Whats the BEST product to get rid of oily skin?

My forehead is a little oily and i was wondering how i could get rid of that or at least lower it.Whats the BEST product to get rid of oily skin?
First of all, if your skin is oily there is no need to moisturize. Oil is the skins natural moisturizer, so if you're adding any other moisturizing product on top of that then it will only add to your problem. If your skin is feeling a little dry then a gel moisturizer like Clinique Dramatically Different Moisurizing Gel would help. Also, a sunscreen like Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion SPF 55 is known for it's mattifying finish and wears very well under makeup.

One tip I have is to take a few squares of toilet paper and press down lightly over your foundation. This will help to make your foundation last longer as well as help to stop your skin from becoming oily sooner.

After the above step you can then apply a powder in tapping motions onto the oily areas of your skin. Some popular and highly recommended products are MAC Blot Powder, Garden of Wisdom Silica Powder and Jurlique Silk Dust.

Hope this helped :)Whats the BEST product to get rid of oily skin?
soap will just dry your skin and cause pimples or white heads from all the dead skin you will have. I know this might sound crazy but i had to find something to help me out with my skin my face is oily but dry ya kinda weird but i used (belive it or not) baking soda. Use just a tablespoon and add drops of water to make it like a paste use it softly against your skin and rinse it with warm water. you will so feel the difference! Let me know if you try it. good luck.
Proactiv. I took it and now I don't have ANY zits...in only 6 weeks!!! and get the ';moisture system'; it is best for oily skin. Also, with the face mask in the moisture system; keep it on overnight. You will see IMMEDIATE difference the next day.
Clinique products are very good. oily skin is usually a level 4 and if you have acne, then the Acne Solutions are your best bet. its a 3 step treatment that runs for about 50 bucks at macys. good stuff
In my fathers homeland of Suriname, the local folk remedy for oily skin is rubbing the area with chili peppers and fish scales.
noxema
Eucerin (its a great lotion) realy works
soap, and real soap, not that whimpy ph balanced stuff.
omg i use the dial foam hand soap and it works wonders

What facial powder is best for people with oily skin?

I currently use Lancome and it is a combo powder with foundation but my skin gets oily within a few hours. Does anyone know of what compact powders work best when you have oily skin? What facial powder is best for people with oily skin?
Totally agree with the no compact pressed powder. Before you even begin to apply make up, make sure you're washing your face with an oil wicking wash. Neutrogena clear skin wash (the orange gel looking one) with salicylic acid will totally dry you up. Then instead of using a light moisturizer like you might use any day, on make up days, opt for a mattifying primer with SPF such as the amazing one Smashbox makes. Its usually good enough to wear alone, but if your not satisfied with the coverage, apply a quick face sweep of a loose powder. Make sure its very light of a sweep or your gonna get blotches. I know its clich茅, but bare esscentuals, the one we see on the info mertials, really is ideal for all skin types. And if you don't want to spend bookoo bucks on the entire kit, just go down to the store, find your shade, and buy just the foundation powder alone which is twenty bucks, which is about how much you'd spend on a decent powder anyways. What facial powder is best for people with oily skin?
mark. has a product called MATTE-NIFICENT oil-absorbing powder ($8). The shades are ivory/nude, buff/natural, honey/golden, or almond/mocha. It really doesn't deposit a lot of color, it is primarily to absorb oil and even tone.

Make sure to use a foundation that is oil free, which all of mark.'s are.

You might also want to try a product from their new skincare line called Matte Chance ($15). It is a moisturizer that smoothes and mattifies and is perfect for oily skin. I love this lotion- it is oil and fragrance free.
In general, avoid compact powder... they have tiny traces of oil that helps to bind the powder together.. hence the shine never lasts long and frequent touch ups are always required.

Opt for loose tinted powder.. give ur face a nice shine-free glow.

good luck :)
Try puritycosmetics.co.uk. It is really good!
I have used Sally Hansen Cornsilk Matte in No Color for YEARS with no problems. I also use blotting sheets when necessary before a powder touch up.

What is a good foundation for someone with oily skin and acne scarring?

I need something that will lesson the look of the scars without feeling like glop on my face. What is a good foundation for someone with oily skin and acne scarring?
Try Bare Minerals or the Loreal version that you can buy at walmart. They are both really great and very light on the skin. What is a good foundation for someone with oily skin and acne scarring?
As a professional makeup artist, might i suggest an oil-free foundation. I just love working with KmS Mineral Essentials. It is a natural mineral makeup that contains kaolin clay, a wonderful oil absorber. Your finish is very fresh natural looking, yet the makeup lasts for hours on end. The concealer virtually erases imperfections, even acne scarring.
Hey, my moms close friend has really awful scars on her face and she is totally vain about her skin. Anyway she loves that mineral wear stuff that's always advertised on TV. I have to say it really dose work! It's kinda expensive I think, but I';m cheap, I use some like Lorielle or revlon mineral makeup and it works great too! I hate wearing makeup becasue my skin is oily and it has always felt nappy, but now I wear it every day, so quick and my skin looks awesome all day. Good Luck!
i think Absolute Oil Control Foundation by ARTISTRY will work for u

its really Lightweight, 100% oil-free foundation confidently puts an end to oil and shine so i think u should try it . and

It鈥檚 clinically proven to minimize the appearance of blemishes, pores, and other skin imperfections so its .Ideal for oily skin

u can buy this only online u can go here

www.MAKESMARTCHOICE.COM

then go to beauty tab then in foundations

best of luck
for someone with oily skin and scarring i would recommend a natural foundation that is not oil based and does not have mico-crystals, as they are in most foundation they can make scarring more appearant. check whatever store you go to for a natural foundation that's very fine in texture.
I have bad skin also so I use mineral makeup from a company that makes this product especially for people with bad skin. You can get it at:

A thick fluid foundation , any good brand , and a little darker than your skin , slight darker not a lot , so it'd look natural!
Mary Kay's Full-Coverage Foundation.
i have acne scars and oily skin. i use clinique cream to powder and it works really good
I use bare escentuals. i love it.

  • What kind of foundation should I use for oily skin?

Everything I've tried you can see it. My pores and all. I tried Bare Minerals too, and you could totally see it. I'm gonna lose my tan soon, and I need some new foundation. What kind of foundation should I use for oily skin?
First of all, get some of those oil-absorbing pads that don't remove your makeup. They're expensive, but if you have oily skin, they're worth it...Because no foundation for oily skin, no matter how well made, will not totally prevent your oily skin from showing through eventually.

Also, try long-lasting foundation instead of the stuff that's made for oily skin. Trust me. It actually works better. I like Max Factor.

Finally, make sure you're using translucent powder. Everyones skin looks oily after a while if they don't use powder on their face. What kind of foundation should I use for oily skin?
try wiping the oil off ur face or use soap
Try Clinique pressed powder foundations. Search around on their website - they have an awesome selection of makeup for all skin types.

You can also fill out a skin survey which will allow the website to recommend make-up that is best for your skin.
Try MAC they can tell you what to use and it is a good line of makeup!!
    Try a powder foundation...
use neutrogena clean tint and or neutrogena foundation it does not make your face worse
I have oily skin as u do..first use clinique pore minimizer on ur T-zone for shine control..then use the foundation... the mat ones..mine is Lancome.

a good tip ..try on some samples at home or from friends for a while then see how ur face reacts...choose accordingly.

    All the best!!
I would call a Mary Kay representative. They are serious and will show you exactly what you need according to your skin. And also the right color,so you don't have a line from face to neck and below, should you be showing a little bit more skin.
a good water based foundation to match your skin tone then follow that with a shine -free powder
COVER GIRL HAS GOOD FOUNDATION. USED PRESSED POWDER WITH IT
You need to use an oil-free formula.
Water based. Never oil based. You didn't mention whether you had breakouts or what your age is, but there is something called Nature's Cure that is made with papaya enzymes that is really great for oily skin. There is a cleanser, an astrigent and a moisturizer.
any that are oil free - Maybeline.
Be thankful that you have oily skin you will age better. 鈾?br>

Try Matt Foundations that are water based and use a Translucent powder over the top to seal it, if this seems a little pale then dust your face with a large dusting brush loaded with bronzing tint.

I have oily skin and this works for me.

Try http://wwwavonuk.com and check what they have to help you. Prices are reasonable too.
Find a foundation with no oil and top it with a coarse powder like Cornsilk. There are also blotting ';papers'; (Clean %26amp; Clear) you can use to absorb oil throughout the day so as not to disturb your foundation. Good luck!
You need a liquid to powder foundation. Something that dries into a powder. Then get a clean blush brush a big one and dust your face with talcum powder.
I have a similar problem, and I really like Mary Kay, and the best thing is if you don't like it, you can return it.
use oil blotting sheets and use Pure Makeup by maybelline. its 50% water, so it wont clog pores or make your skin more oily

    glad i could help!

What is the best way to deal with severe oily skin when your dermatologist does not prescribe accutane?

She has me on Retin a-micro .10% and I use proactive to wash twice a dayWhat is the best way to deal with severe oily skin when your dermatologist does not prescribe accutane?
See link below for 10 home remedies.

You may want to consult a nutritionist, or someone at GNC...who knows about balancing your system. Ask about DeTox, which can be bought as a pill. Check with your dermatolgist before beginning any routine. What is the best way to deal with severe oily skin when your dermatologist does not prescribe accutane?
    baby powder oh yah!!!!!111111
The best way to get rid of severely oily skin (like I have) is to get old.

When you get old and your skin is itchy from dryness in a way you never dreamed could exist you'll long for the days when you had extra oil to go around.

Retin A works well. She may bump you up to stronger stuff depending on how you react because this stuff can cause serious over dryness if not used properly or on the right skin type.

As an aside I find that the best moisturizer for my dry hands (the backs) is the oil from my forehead. P.S. I didn't used to have dry skin anywhere.

I would recommend YSL's matte tinted moisturiser, applies like a liquid but sets as with a powdered look.

Having said that, there are so many different products out there that you should speak to a cosmetic consultant, but definitely avoid those that aren't oil free
neutrogena skin clearing foundation - the compact cream foundation, not the liquid
Mary Kay's Medium Coverage Foundation ($14). I have combination skin and I usually use the Dual Coverage Powder Foundation, but on days when my skin is really oily I'll use the Medium Coverage and it really works for me.

let your skin be oily but make sure you wash it everyday, your skin will look nice when you get older
i don't think there's really a foundation that's ';good for oily skin'; at all. If you can, use an oil free tinted moisterizer instead of foundation - it's MUCH better for your skin. Those Clean %26amp; Clear oil absorbing sheets also work WONDERS. you may want to try those. they're a bit pricy, but they work reeeally really well.
    go for stila, it's great
definitely the Mary Kay medium coverage foundation. it's made especially for oily skin. i sell it, i use it, and i love it. i won't ask you to buy it from me, cuz that's advertising. but if you don't have anywhere else to get it, you can sure click on my profile and follow the link on my 360 page and i'd love to be your consultant for life if you need one! pink hugs!

p.s. and if for some reason you get the wrong color or the foundation doesn't fit your skin for some reason, it's 100% guaranteed. you can either get your money back, exchange it for another formula, or exchange it for another MK product like eyeshadows or lipstick....you really can't lose!
Any type of powder-based foundation would be ideal, coupled with a mattifier primer/lotion.

I recommend Chanel - Used with Precision T-Mat, their Double Perfection Compact gives a wonderful matte, velvety finish.
I love Clinique Oil Free foundation, stay matte look. It has great coverage and it never makes me break out. Also their pressed powder is great too.
the best make up or foundation for oily skin is avon brand it runs around 8 dollars but i have found it works the best and i have a site that i sell through that you can buy it with a discount through my site check it out. www.youravon.com/hvalandingham
I would recommend that you go to a MAC cosmetics store they have foundation for oily skin and they also help you match the exact color of foundation for your face, they have really good makeup.

Get bare minerals. That make-up works wonderfully for Oily skin. Hope I helped.
use oil free conrollers like from proactive and or like bigh depastmernt stores like clince and or make sure it say to control oil and ot it says oil free
Me too, it seemed like I tried everything...I just picked up Nutrogenas acne skin kit, which has the wash, creams for night and oil free day moistuizer. It works wonders, I saw a difference immediately, clean, oil free skin that was NOT dry, but still glowing and luminous. Acne GONE in a couple days. Give it a try.
    noxema!

you can buy it at walmart and it really help. lake water also rejuvinates your skin and gets rid of warts.
i heard if you mash papaya or mango and put it on your face for 10 minutes it will make it less oily but if you have oily skin you will get wrinkles later in life
Wash your face with a face wash for oily or sensitive skin. You can try Peter Thomas Roth (Sephora.com) facial cleanser for sensitive/oily skin -- it leaves your skin feeling squeeky clean, or you can get the same effect by using Clean and Clear Face wash for sensitive skin (works really good for less than half the price!). Then, it's advised to use a toner - you can buy one that's made for oily skin or you can use Witch Hazel -- works really good on oily skin. Drink lots of water (this helps ALL types of skin look better) and wear a matte-finish oil free sunscreen like DDF Matte Finish SPF 15 (Sephora.com) or you can find one at your local drug store.

REMEMBER to exfoliate every 3 days and use a CLAY MASK about twice a week. Clay Masks are really good for oily skin -- they soak up the oil and leave your skin feeling really smooth and looking really clean.

    Hopefully this helps!!

    Good Luck!
    - Wipe your face with water + lemon solution every time it feels oily and shiny.

    - Use oil-free facial wash and oil-free mosturiser both from Neutrogena. They are very good in controlling skin-oil production.

    - Use blotting tissue to wipe away the excess oil.

    - Dust some loose powder of your skin tone to absorb the excess oil and remove the shine.

    - Drink a lot of water, this cools down the body and reduces excessive sweating which normally causes more oil production.

    - Stay away from the sun or direct heat.

    - Use evian thermal water spray directly on your face to sooth and cool down the heat on the face.

    - Avoid make-up but if u must, use water based type, powder-type or oil-free type especially foundation.
Phillips Milk of Magnesia works too. You can wash your face like you normally do, then slowly pour some of the Milk of Magnesia into the bottle cap, then apply that amount on your entire face and let it dry. Once it dries it will look like a white mask. It sucks up the oil. After like 15 minutes or so wash it off with a little bit of your cleanser. You can do this twice a week or more if you like. You can buy Phillips Milk of Magnesia at the drug store. Some people use a thin, thin layer of it underneath their make up to keep their face matte.

    Oily skin?

i'm 23 and lately my skin has been super oily out of nowhere...i even got a pimple on my scalp near my hairline...what is the best way to control this?? i've never had much trouble with acne before...thanks!Oily skin?
Well I have incredibly oily skin as well. I use a Acne Free Face Wash in the shower everyday and then after the face wash I put on Acne Free Lotion. It seems to work great as long as I do it everyday. There is also Oil pads that you can get where you just pat it on your face and it removes the oil as well. Good LuckOily skin?
well cold water is really good for oily face wash ur face with cold water every day about 3 times it should help good luck!

    Oily Skin???

Over the last year my skin has gotten really oily and nothing seems to help. ive used Mary Kay for oily skin, and Neutrogena oil eliminating wash and astringent...nothing works. i can't really find anything at the store for oily skin w/out the acne fighting crap in it. i dont have acne so i dont wanna use that harsh stuff.

it's so bad that im washing my face 3 times a day!

is there ANYTHING that helps?Oily Skin???
it could be from a number of things such as:

    Where you work

    What you eat...

just things that go one in a normal day. I use proactive (even though its a little pricey) but i don't have acne and it helps alot.Oily Skin???
A good remedy just open your pores about twice a day it take 20 minutes to open all then blend up some oats till its really powdery then apply it to your face let it sit for like 20 mintues it should help wash it off and go about your day.

Depending on how old you are your oil glands are really producing alot of oil start drinking more water and stay away from nuts like almonds.
Use Neutrogena. It's gentle and it's not all acne fighting. Don't apply a moisturizer except for at night. Even if it says no shine - it won't work. Don't use liquid makeup! Use Bare Minerles (will take away shine) or Neutrogena mineral powder makeup.
are you using an oil free moisturizer? people with oil skin sometimes think they don't need to moisturize which actual cause your skin to produce more oil. Your skin needs hydration so be sure to use an oil free hydration lotion. Mary Kay also makes an oil matifier which works very well give that a try.

    Oily skin...?

if you put moisturizer on your face, won't it just make your face more oily? If you do have oily skin, what are some good suggested moisturizers and when should you put it on?Oily skin...?
First use an oil-free cleanser and than an oil-free moisturizer. I use Mary Kay Age-Fighting Oil- Free Moisturizer, it's awesome.Oily skin...?
your skin is oily due mostly to genetics and endocrine system

you can try a moisturizer thatis simply stated as '; oil free'; like neutrogena or almay

alot of exercise or outdoor activity or sun can cause you to sweat making your skin ';feel'; oilier.

Try washing your face with cetaphil from the drugstore and a simple toner to follow preferably one taht is alcohol free as to not strip the acid mantle in the skin then follow with your moisturizer and one that has an added benefit of sunscreen in it for protection

you can also use a bentonite or kaolin clay mask once a week to absorb excess oils in the skin

mineral and rice powders also provide a less shiny look in place of talcum powder or mica based makeup
My Brother suffers from oily skin and this is what I have helped him wok out.

First of all he washes he face in the morning and in the evening with an oil free and cleansing face wash. After that he puts moisturiser only on the dry bits of skin, for him its his nose and his cheeks. Then a blemish gel or tea tree oil on his forehead and chin where it gets oily. Another really good thing to do it to take a multivitamin everyday to help with the natural balance of your skin.
it has to say oil free

i use coco butter like palmers

try a oil free face wash too

    good luck

    OILY skin?

ever since i had my baby 18 months ago, my skin gets sooo oily, how can i stop it? mary kay is not working..OILY skin?
A good product you can use is Neutrogenas oil controlling toner. You also want to make sure that you are not drying out your face too much, because you will produce more oil in your face so make sure you follow it up with a moisturizer.OILY skin?
THAT'S BECUSE MARY KAY IS A BAD PRODUCT. IT CONTAINS MINERAL OIL WHICH TO PROFESSIONAL SKIN CARE THERAPISTS IS LIKE SAYING GREASY PIZZA TO NUTRITIONISTS. TRY DERMALOGICA'S DERMAL CLAY CLEANSER, AND DAILY MICROFOLIANT, AND ACTIVE MOIST. IF IT'S TOO PRICEY FOR UR TASTE, TRY THE TEA TREE OIL LINE FROM THE BODY SHOP (THAT'S THE GOOD KIND OF OIL).

    Oily skin ?

    im 13

and i wet a face towel and rub my face in the morning

then after skool i do the same

but at night i use special facial wash, cetaphil, and then dry it w/ a facial sponge

during skool i can notice that my face is VERY oily

    it shines in the light...lol

how do i decrease this oil?Oily skin ?
Your body has a normal mechanism in it to produce oil. It does this because of LACK OF MOISTURE. If you are not moisturizing your face the body increases the production (trust me I used to be oily before noon and I would never have believed what I just told you till I did research). Now you need to find a GOOD moisturizer. I use a oil control lotion by Mary Kay. With that and a good cleanser and a good powder foundation ( to absorb oil throughout the day w/ beauty blotters) you might be able to get it to slow down production. I know right now it's a curse to have oily skin but when you are older and the production gland starts to slow down your skin will look better than those with dry skin. Good Luck!Oily skin ?
Clean and clear is a great product to use. all u need to do is get some cotton balls, squeeze some clean and clear into a sandwich bag with the cotton balls and u can use it anytime u need to feel fresh and dry.
translucent powder darling! it'll take it away and keep you from shining the entire day!
I have the same problem I use blush and put it all over my face and it seems to take the shine out it helps me. I hope it works :]
An oily skin , as the name implies, is one in which the sebaceous or oil-producing glands are over active. As surface grease tends to attract dirt, an oily skin acquires a dirty surface film , that needs to be removed daily. For more details log to http://useinfo-oilyskin.blogspot.com/
I am 14 and that used to always happen to me but the key is to MOISTURIZE after WASHING you face.

i don't think there's really a foundation that's ';good for oily skin'; at all.

Have you tried Dream Matte Mouse with their new powder (Dream Matte Powder) on top.

It works wonders for me, making me look flawless and it lasts a long time as well. I would also carry blotting paper (From Body Shop etc) to bot you t zone throughout the day. What is the best foundation for oily skin?
I had that problem too until I started using Mary Kay mineral powder foundation. Try beauty blotters too, because there really is no cure for oily skin. It is a problem now, but you will be thankful for it when you get older. Eat healthy. http://www.marykay.com/color/foundations/default.aspx

I recommend Faerie Organic Minerals. I understand it sucks when you fork out lots of money and nothing works. Their mineral makeup is amazing for all skin but especially for oily/acneic skin. It lasts all day and leaves a healthy dewy glow. It is the best I have used as it has a high end mineral in it called Boron Nitride which is antibacterial (helps acne) and is a skin perfector. Their sheer veil is great for absorbing any extra oil and works fantastic on oily skin. You can try it for FREE(you just pay shipping, like $5.99) you get 2 foundations, mineral veil and bronzer with the sample kit. It's worth it! Try it! http://www.faerieorganic.com
I use the chanel foundation, adn then put on the pressed pwder on top, i have oily skin too =( I know how u feel =( my make up wont last for more than 2 hours =( ive tried lots of brands.. Dior but it still goes away, u should try using face toners, they reduce ur skin's oil tremendously %26amp; i use it 3 times a day !

    -Good Luck xx
have you tried mabelline mouse with a light dust of powder on top, pref the new mineral type.

What is the best brand of makeup for oily skin?

I have extremely oily skin prone to breakouts and I am trying to figure out which is the best foundation to use for my face. Also, should I use just the liquid foundation or finish with powder later? What is the best brand of makeup for oily skin?
you should use the powder because it is less likely to clog your pores than a liquid. Here, go to covergirl.com, they have some great stuff that won't clog your pores. Also, powder conceals the oil so it won't look so greasy. But if you must use foundation, there's a link at covergirl and they have some great stuff that's probably on your budget =)What is the best brand of makeup for oily skin?
Bare minerals is good but pricey. I work at the Body Shop and their all in one face base is amazing, best ive ever used. I have very oily skin too. A slightly cheaper alternative is neutrogena. The pressed face powder is amazing, it great for everyday and it doesnt clog my pores, Since ive started using it I stoped breaking out. It comes with a spounge but I recommend a cheap makeup brush for better applcation.
Bare minerals...i swear by it! You can also sleep in it and won't wake up with acne. Plus, it feels so light on your face, not like a pound of makeup that will melt off if you have oily skin. Truly recommend it!
PHYS.FORMULA AND/OR NEUTROGENA, THAT ALL IMA SAY.
    bare minerals sweetheart

What is a good astringent or toner for oily skin?

I have oily/combination skin (mostly oily). I would prefer one that is gentle but effective. What is a good astringent or toner for oily skin?
    Witch Hazel.

Simple, natural, and works great. What is a good astringent or toner for oily skin?
I did start back using witch hazel. To balance out the drying effect of the 14% alcohol in it, I follow it with a thin layer of lotion on my face.

    Thanks! Report Abuse

Clinque's astringent really zaps the oil. I also like Sea Breeze, you can buy it at any drug store and it's cheap and smells pretty good. The best thing for me is to Proactiv's 3 step plan. It's expensive but worth it.
Witch Hazel is a great natural astringent. You can purchase it at your local pharmacy.
I'm using proactive and I like it, but for a less expensive alternative i used to use witch hazel- its great- almost every toner has witch hazel in it, it a main ingredient. When I stop using proactive I'll return to useing witch hazel....

don't use soap based cleaning product. use herb paste.
Try Serious Skin Care you can find it on the web. Your face is worth looking after. You take care of your skin it will take care of you later in life.
Neutrogena products all the way. I have oily/acne prone skin and my dermatologist swears by their products. They have a great scrub(has an orange top) that works SOOO good. Also, make sure you use a non comogenic moisturizer. They face wash I use is a cleanser/make-up remover. It's great. GL!
    Acne-free.
Beauticontrol has a great fash wash

Yes there is a solution. You can use miho bio foam to cleanse your face. Then you apply miho skin lotion. Afterwhich you can apply miho ce cream on the neck areas to moisturize it.

Check out the products sold online only and not available at any departmental store. bellrin8880@hotmail.com
i have the EXACT same problem. and so far ive discovered the biore skin care line. they have alot of products that helped my very oily skin, but i heard you cant get rid of it sadly. im interested in all the other answers too lol.

    good luck anyways!!!:)
    Tea Tree products work great.
I have the same type of skin, I love to use the Tea Tree Oil Face Wash for Oily/ Blemished skin. It is the only thing that I have tried that gets rid of acne! It is great! You can get it from a store called The Body Shop in the mall! I really hope that I helped. If you want to learn more about the product go to www.thebodyshop.com! And, good luck with the skin!
Face washes are topical solutions. You need to pay more attention to what you are putting into your body. Clean up your diet and drink at least one gallon of water a day. I always have water with me and sip it through out the day. I used to have a real acne problem and it went away with good nutrition. I suggest you also supplement with good fats. Try fish oil capsules rich in Omega 3 fatty acids. They help combat the bad fats and have tons of vitamin E. They help purify your skin without drying it out unlike the acid washes people are suggesting you use.
Neutrogena works well (i use the kind that EXFOLIATES) look on the bottles, it will say 'for oily skin types'.. but neutrogena works well. your oily skin may also have to do with your diet.. do u eat oily-fatty foods? (if so then try eating more veggies and fruits)
    clear and clean
I like Johns and Johnson baby Natuarls.

I started using it cause my baby has sensitive skin.

so i wasshed wiht it so he wouldn't break out ever time i held him.

I figured it it was gentle enough for him it would be for my face.

    It works good.
    plain witchazel!
i agree with the clean and clear.Thats a problem you will have. Try drinking hot tea for breakfast, everyday.
I use DHC products (http://www.dhccare.com) for cleansing, which are very gentle but very effective. Massage your face with Deep Cleansing Oil first, to break up all the sebum build-up, then rinse with warm water. Then use Pure Soap to foam away all the dirt and other junk. Putting oil on your oily skin sounds counter-productive, but as a first cleansing step it really works well to dissolve all the grime and makeup on your face without harsh detergents that are in most cleansers. Then when you use a gentle soap afterwards, it really gets your skin super-clean without stripping the natural moisture from your skin. Remember that oily skin needs moisture, too - drying your skin out can make it even more oily!

Exfoliation is the key to keeping my oily skin clear. If your pores don't get clogged, you'll keep pimples to a minimum. I use a ';gentle'; Buf-Puf exfoliating sponge on my face 4-5 times a week with my regular cleanser (DHC Pure Soap) before bed. I also use Neutrogena Rapid Clear acne pads 2-3 times a week (at night, after cleansing) if I feel like my skin is getting congested - they have salicylic acid in them, which dissolves blackheads and helps keep pores unclogged.

To control oil during the day, I use Estee Lauder Clear Difference Oil-Absorbing Moisturizer. It works well for me, though I do still get a little break-through shine at the end of the day. Mary Kay makes the best blotting paper I've ever used; it really gets rid of shine without adding powder.

Also, don't underestimate the value of good hydration. Drink plenty of water every day (at least 80 ounces or 10 glasses) and stay away from caffeine. It really, really helps. I also find that taking B-vitamin supplements helps keep my skin and hair healthy, too.
TRY OLAY SOAP, ASTRINGENT AND OXY-5 OR OXY-10
proactitive. if not the best thing is get a sponge to use when u wash ur face. im tellin u the sponge is the best. use any cleanin n u see a different.
Clinque has a great facial cleansing line, I have oily skin and it works great! There are four different types of soap just go a mall make-up counter and ask about it.
The only thing that has remotely worked for me so far is acne free. Just make sure to use it every morning and every night! All 3 steps! Sometimes I don't and that's why I haven't personally been very successful.

    Good luck!

C.O. Bigelow liquid clay cleanser. i buy it at Bath %26amp; Body Works =) try at their online store
    Try Clearasil Oil Control
Garnier Nutrioniste (the face cleasner) it leaves your face smooth, and texture even. It keeps your face from becoming oily, but it doesn't leave your face dry, it's a good buy :-)
    carrot soap
    nuetragena alcohol free toner
i have recently started to use PROACTIVE. it really is gold in a jar! and totaly worth the price! i have mega oily skin also and i get bad acne and it had reduced the oil in my skin and cleared up 50% of my acne in 2 weeks! also if u r out or at school and u noticed that ur skin is really shinny- slip into the bathroom take 1 to 2 sheets of toilet paper and lightly dap ur face.... i know it sounds weird but it works and takes away the oil... u may also want to get a foundation -if u wear it- that has minerals in it. they wont cloge ur pores and help with that acne..i have Lore'al Bare Naturale. i got it at the drug store for not to much money.. u can also take it with u and reaply after u use the tiolet paper. this will clear up ur acne and keep ur face from becomeing super shinny and embaresing.. best of luck!

Mary Kay's Timewise Age-Fighting Moisturizer for combination to oily skin leaves your skin feeling moisturized without that pulled tight feeling or feeling like an oil slick. wow. i cant believe people are telling you to wash your face like 578475894375 times a day.

whatever you do, do NOT do that.

it is horrible for your skin.

your only suppose to wash your skin 2 times a day.

if you do it more than that it will make your skin more oily.

i know this sounds weird, but when you go to bed keep your hair out of your face. put it in a pony and put a strechy headband in.

the stuff and oils in your hair will get on your face.

hope i helped. What are some tips to redduce acne and oily skin?
I would suggest using an apricot or similar facial scrub at night and apply Sea Breeze before bed and during your morning routine before leaving for work. Sea Breeze is an astringent that will help dry out the skin which is what you're looking for. Try these combinations for a week and see if there are any beneficial results.
well, i have oily skin in the summer times and dry in the winter. so i use al natural cosmetics 100% natural products and its perfect at all times!!! so here's the web site and its down there again...http://www.alnaturalcosmetics.org/Minera鈥?/a>
you can try compressing your acne using ice cube. it can reduce oil on skin -i think- and it can be used to press infection on your skin so a widened acne may become small

Thanks, yeah i do wash my face in the morning and at night just need something extra so thanks! Report Abuse

Just wash your face thrice a day. once in the morning, once when you come back from school, and once at night. try to also wash before you sleep, and after playing sports. blackheads are dirt that aren't able to escape the skin because of the oil. the oil acts like a cage for dirt, and also attracts it. so my suggestion would be to wash with a medical facewash like the Clearasil facewash or a Garnier facewash with peppermint or mint extracts to cleanse your pores. and also, remember that after using a zit cream, the cream doesn't disappear. wash of the residual cream....
I use the Biore face strips and a deep-cleaning cleanser morning and night. I add moisturizer to the dry areas and leave the oil-prone areas clear of any additional moisture.
I had the same problem, use clean and clear black scrub, wash face, rub on, and rise off, morning and night, every day for a week, you'll look amazing again in no time!
Soap, water, washcloth, rinse and repeat often!

    Oily Skin?

I have REALLY oily skin (especially on my forehead), are there any products to buy to make it go away for awhile? I know bangs create oil on your skin and I know I have to wash my face everyday to help it.Oily Skin?
I have oily skin as well, and I鈥檝e had this problem. You of course have to wash your face with a gentle cleanser morning and evening (don鈥檛 get one that is too harsh or it will suck moisture out of your skin causing your skin to overcompensate by producing MORE oil). You need to follow up with an oil free moisturizer or gel. You can also try a product called a mattifier, which your wear under your makeup to keep oil at bay. Also, blotting your face with blotting paper several times a day will pick up excess oil without removing your makeup. Of course, any product you put on your face MUST have the words oil free on it! I am a Mary Kay Consultant, so I of course recommend their products, but you may be able to find similar products in a different brand. (And you're right, oily skin wrinkles less...one good thing!)Oily Skin?
I use a product made for oily skin that is pure safe and botanicla to work with my sebious glands that are deep within my skin that has sensor believe it or not. It is like your skins naviagaitonal system. When using products that are harsh or drying it tells the sebious glands that they need to produce more oils. see. So if you use a product like i do that talks to these glands it tell them that the surface of my top layer is good not dry and it slows them down. So it works with not only the oily t-zone but the dry patches on my skin as well. This product also is pure safe and botancial and is not drying but it balances my skin. I had to get the personalizer it's a powder that i had to use before i used the mositurizer to obsorb all the oils that it brought out from my glands to cleanse them out but it was worth every penny and so now my skin is normal pure and smooth and i love love my skin and people said what are you doing differently you skin looks so healthy and pure. I told them i got a sample of the not so basic skin care line from a consultant and then she worked with me to see how i was doing and we ordered the personalizer and i can't believe how long this product last. wow less than a dollar a day to use and i use it twice a day i wash tone eyecream and use the mask 4 days a week to help exfoliate and pull out more oils and then use the personalizer and then the mositurizer. Takes me less than 2 minutes aday for great healthy skin. So now i am a consultant and if you click on my profile and the link you can get yourself these incredible products as well. Works so well i tell everyone and they are so glad to know that they are using the best skin care ever made. Its formulated in swertherland and made here in the us so that's even greater news for me. Take care and good luck finding anything better.

    Oily skin?

i have REALLY oily skin, and it is so gross. my skin is ok after i wash it and stuff, but then throughout the day it gets really bad. is there anything i can do to contain this? i dont use anythink with oil in just FYI.Oily skin?
I have oily skin too. I wash it 3 times a day. I don't even wear make up beacuse it starts to look gross. I recently started using hydrocortisone for possible poison oak on my face and it has decreased the oil a lot and my acne too. I have posted a ? on here about it you can read, some say it can harm your skin too so it may not be the best answer. I have tried something called Florida foam before that works well too.Oily skin?
I used to suffer from EXTREMELY oily skin, but its all gone now! Trust me when I say this, as odd as it might sound, you need a moisturizer!

Oily skin is a problem in which the oil-producing glands are over active, so what do we do we do when we see lots of oil? we wash with soap... WRONG! That is the biggest mistake we could ever make! When we wash our face with soap, we strip the skin of its moisture and nutients, and so our glands produce EVEN MORE oil to make up for it.

What we have to do is make our glands produce oil at a steady and slow rate, and if you wanted, even almost to the point where your skin stops producing oil altogether. How do we do that?

Wash the oil out (along with the dirt), and immediately moisturize your face with a lotion that has anitoxidants in it. I use Murad, beacuse Proactive did not work for me. The second step in Proactive was too strong, causing my skin to become irritated and worse. But Murad uses a natural acid produced by the skin to kill 99% of bacteria on your skin. The second step is an exfoliater, and the Third step moisturizes my face extremely well.

I would recommend going insane with the Moisuturizer and apply a medium layer to your face until your skin becomes dependent on the lotion for moisture. It's worked for me, and since a moisturizer is readily available, my skin never goes dry. (my skin barely produces oil now!)

If you don't want to use Murad, I recommend the 2 step approach; wash and moisturize. Buy a face wash that is gentle, one without soap (soap is bad because it is a base, and your skin is naturally a little bit acidic. Soap is also bad because acne bacteria thrive easier in a less acidic invoronment, so, if you use a base, it will lower your acidic content, and your acne will multiply even more!) and then get an extremely good moisturizer.

    Hope everything goes well!
Apply only oil-free foundations, powder blushers and powder eye shadows. Foundation should be used after bathing on the eyelids and lips. This ensures your cosmetics remain on your face for longer time.

Cleaning your face with mild soap and water twice or thrice daily will minimize the secretion of oil.

I agree with the others that your skin is crying out for moisture. Here are some great products for oily skin. Try them. They're backed with a 100% satisfaction guarantee or your money back. Blotting sheets are great, too!

    Certified Beauty Advisor
OK you have to moisturize after you wash, I know it seems backwards to apply it to oily skin. Your skin is over producing oil to make up for lack of moisture. Invest in oil blotting papers, they remove oil with out smudging makeup. If your in a pinch...strange as this may sound the toilet seat covers in bathrooms work as well for oil blotting. Time less secret of make up artists.
I have the same problem. To deal with excess oil during the day without having to wash it, get some oil blotting papers. They're small pieces of tissue-looking paper, you dab them against the oily areas and they soak up all the oil. You can even do it over makeup without messing it up, and it takes just seconds to do. You can get them at any drug store.
I also have extremely oil skin. I buy these blue oil blotting sheets from the drug store and pat them on my face throughout the day. It looks like I've powdered my face with a compact minus the build up. Check 'em out. They are the best and I always carry them around.

If you are SOL without them, kleenex or a sheet of toilet paper does a decent job.
A lot of lines (ie. Clinique, Biore, Clean and Clear) have those oil blot sheets that you use throughout the day to help control oil. Also try an oil free makeup (Superbalance by Clinique is really good!)

IT might suck having oily skin now, but at least when you're 40 you won't have wrinkles!

    Oily skin?

My forehead, nose, chin, and like the sides of my nose where it connects to my face (haha) get extremely oily. like. i can wipe my hand across my face %26amp; it'll get all shiny and gross. What products are best to use to help with the oiliness without over drying?Oily skin?
Rice papers. Do not use powder, it will only mix the oil in, not remove it.

Rice papers are available almost anywhere and are very inexpensive. Other brands have started trying to make them, but they aren't as good and they are way too $$$.

    http://www.amazon.com/Rice-Powder-Paper-鈥?/a>Oily skin?
I use MyChelle's Oily/Acne Line. It truly keeps me from looking like an oil slick and it is also all natural and Paraben free so you know it's great for your skin- check it out and good luck... www.mychelleusa.com (it's also sold in lots of health food places)

    -p.s.- if you just want something that you can buy at the store- try Neutrogena's Oil Free face wash that's a foam with any oil free moisturizer- also try not to exfoliate every day as this tends to stimulate your oil glands and make them ';over active';

    GOOD LUCK!!!
There's a great %26amp; inexspensive line that you can purchase..not sure where you live .. but in MA.. we can find it @ Sally's... the name of the product is Beyond Belief.... I am in the beauty business %26amp; also a medical professional... I used a particular product from the line for my own face...my daughter absconded with it.. her boyfriend used to tease her about her shiny nose... needless to say her face is no longer shiny ! (and the boyfriend is history!)...ps... please never use alcohol on your face..it is not recommended... you can find astringents %26amp; toners without a high % of alcohol... just a little FYI... to save face ..no pun intended...

I have oily skin to if you dont tend to it it will cause large pores and U REALLY DONT want those I would suggest using all oil free make up when I switched to Bare Minerals that helps a lot the spots you described you are getting oily is called the T zone most common spot for oil make sure all your face washes or products are for Oily skin and use blotting pappers to lift the oil even though its not recommended I use rubbing alcohol when I get to oily and it helps alot
With personal experience, I would recommend you use zenmed's skin support system for oily skin. I would rate it as the best as I have experienced it's effectiveness. It is a combo kit consisting of a cleanser, a gel and an oil free moisturizer with SPF 30. All combined help you in a short period of time to combat your oil wells that come up on the surface of your skin. You could also use my discount code ';zen4less'; just in case you decide to buy from them.

    Oily skin?

In the morning my face is good, its not too dry, but around mid afternoon my face is oily and I hate that. What can I do to keep it from getting like that. I try not to put lotion on my face becuase that only seems to make it even more oily. If you have any tips or suggestion please let me know.Oily skin?
i always use a good facial pressed powder, but using oil absorbing sheets is useful. you can buy them at pharmacies. Clean and Clear makes one still, I believe. Also, don't just wash with regular soap...get a good facial cleanser/wash that specifies that it is ';oil controlling';. There is one out by Clearasil, which is in a green bottle. also, you can use a salicylic acid cleanser, which is good for oil and pimples. look on the back and should say in the active ingredient section whether the cleanser has it or not. you may think that putting lotion on your face only makes it worse, but it really important to use a facial moisturizer. don't use any body lotions on your face, but use a facial moisturizer. make sure it is oil free. it should also say non comogenic (not sure on the spelling but it's a 'c'word) which means it won't clog your pores or cause more oil. other than that, make sure to wash your face twice a day and use a toner and moisturizer. a toner is what you use after cleansing your face. it's a liquid that you put on a cotton pad and wipe on the face. this helps wipe any residue and dirt off your face. neutrogena has products of all these things. the best thing i have discovered for my oil problems is a good clay mask. look for a mask which says it has Koalin in it. this is a particularly effective clay that absorbs dirt and oil from deep down in the pores. you should use a mask 2-3 times a week and it should really help. i recommend the St Ives firming mask or the Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask, which you can get at CVS or Walgreens. both are cheap and very affective. hope this helps!! :)Oily skin?
i have the same promblem......... just get some face wash with no oil and get oil control pads from nutragena (((no idea ho to spell that)))! i think there called rapid clear they work really good!
Use alcohol to dry your skin a little.Don't use it everyday because you don't want your skin to get too dry.Or you can use face wash with no oil.Try neutrogena.( I think that's how you spell it)Good luck
Cleanse, Tone, Moisturize. After you cleanse you should tone with something like sea breeze sensitive to remove any impurities. now that your skin is well cleansed you need to replace the natural moisture. If you don't your skin will work extra hard and produce too much oil.
Get an astringent but I know the more you wash it the more oily it gets. IMy skin will get quite oily at times esp. the summer and I know its a tough call.
Oily skin is great. You won't get any wroinkles later on in life.

To reduce the shine, make sure you use products designed for oily skin (soaps, toners and moisturizers). Even though your skin is oily, always use a moisturizer.

Later in the day, when the shine starts, use a tissue of cloth to blot away the oil (if you are a man).

Use Cornsilk powder to reduce the shine (if you are a woman).
    http://1stholistic.com/Beauty/skin/skin_鈥?/a>

this seems to explain a lot
    Oily Skin Treatment

When the sebaceous glands in the body produce excess sebum, your skin turns oilier. Due to this skin condition you are most prone to face problems such as acne, whiteheads, blackheads, etc. Therefore due care should be taken on a regular basis to reduce the chances of developing skin diseases.

Daily, mix 1 tablespoon of limejuice with cucumber juice and apply it on the skin surface almost half an hour before having a bath. Your skin may be extremely oily and so mix a few trickles of eau de cologne. By treating the skin in this manner, you are not only removing the excess oil from the skin, but also clearing the pores that are present, thus preventing the development of acne.

If your skin appears oily, then after applying your makeup the light patches usually tend to stay there. But beforehand, if it is rubbed lightly with cucumber juice, and then makeup is applied then you will not face the same problem.

    Oily skin????

I wash my face everyday, but i still have oily skin. what products can i buy in the US to take this away? it's mostly on my nose, and around my cheekbone. or what other home remedies are there?Oily skin????
first of all you should use oil free everything! an oil-control wash and moisturizer is good, oil free cosmetics, oil blotters like clean and clear are good, matte cosmetics will also give you that not so shiny look.Oily skin????
Try products made especially for combination skin, because it sounds like that's what you have.

Use an oil-free moisturizer as well.
I had the same problem and washing my face repeatedly did not help. Having said that, I started using Philosophy Vitamin C Microderm. It helped a lot.
umm as a girl (the icon is misleading) I usually use rice paper , it works really good
I understand your pain. My skin is very oily too and I wash it twice a day! I think that the most inexpensive and effective way to help oily skin is to get a good skin toner.(You can get toners at Wal-Mart or any other store like that) Like I said it's not expensive and it works really well! Just be sure that that any face products you use are oil-free. This will help too. Also remember that oily skin will look better, younger, and not wrinkle so much when you're older!
powder foundation that matches your skin tone should work well. you can get some really cheap at a local drugstore.
ok what i use is clean and clear oxygenbatingfizzing cleanser and also astringent and they work good for me
I use a mask by Mary kay it really does hold back the oil, especially in the summer time. It is to be ised 3 times a week and I have been using this product for quite sometime now. Afte the mask I use a light astringent like witch hazel.
Even though you wash your face everyday you can still have oily skin cuz when you wash your face your skin will dry out and produce a lot of oil. So whenever you wash your face make sure you use a moisterizer. I hope i helped!!!http://www.biore.com/usa/products/produc鈥?/a>
Mary Kay has great products for this exact thing.

    Donate it to macdonalds sweetie.

    You've got no other hope.

I supose tea tree is good but sometimes people get spots..

Suppose it's gotta be better than looking like you've fried bacon on your face.

    Ta Ta xoxo.
wash ur face and neutragena makes this cleasing gel thing and it really helps
use pure aloe vera after you wash ur face and wash it with a clear skin bar like neutrogena
To be honest, sweating is great for it, then let the sweat dry on your face, before you wash, because the salt in the sweat clears up oily skin, blackheads, etc...So, taking a fast walk in a park is brilliant. Sulpur stinks to eat, but you can buy it, and it is also great for bad skin. Cabbage juice, and even eating cabbage is fantastic, but if you drink up the juice after its cooked it is really brilliant for your skin.

Summed up, drink cabbage juice for iron, get sweating, and some fresh air.
your skin is oily because it is trying to hydrate itself after you wash your face apply lotion that has no oil and dont touche your face alot because that spreads pimples
Try detoxing your body every month and stay away from oily foods. Drink juices and water for bout 3 months . Your body may need a new diet. Try purchaing clay face masks as they pull the impurities from your pores.
try using Proactive daily Oil control. it works great for me. Or try other ';Proactive'; products. They are non-comdegentic and not that costly Good Luck!
I have eary olily skin too

    I hilighly recommend

the victoria's secret oil blotting sheets

    they work faboulous!
I have oily skin too, and recently I've found Ettusais' new medicated acne range pretty good. It controls oil well and leaves your skin hydrated, not dry. Using too many oil-free products can actually cause skin dehydration and in turn cause your skin to produce even more oil which lead to pimples.... this Ettusais' new range contains 'AC control oil' to fight acne bacteria and hydrate your skin. And it does not clogged pores.

I use this range's ';Skin version up, aqua shooter (oil-control version), whitening essence, oil control essence and medicated day and nighttime protect powder';. Leaves my skin matte and comfortable for longer hours and has significantly reduced my pimple outbreaks too.

You can find out more here: ettusais.sg

    Hope this helps.
for oily skin i suggest you drink more water...it is also healthy for your insides...and take showers daily with SOAP...and your welcome..haha

    OILY skin?

What should I do to get rid of oilyyyy skinn?

    Are there any home remedies?

PLeasee helpp! Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!OILY skin?
Wash your face very often throughout the day.

Use a non-alcohol based toner. While alcohol dries the oil immediately, your glands will overcompensate and produce more oil.

Use Corn Silk powder between washing. It absorbs oil and it's translucent.OILY skin?
    wash ur face frequently
Don't use ANY moisturizer or cosmetic products containing oil. Exfoliate w/ gentle buf-puf every other day, with neutrogena pore refining cleanser. Use witch hazel as a toner. Never use alcohol. If you strip your skin, it will try to make extra oil to compensate. If you tend to get shiny through the day, try using abonne bio-matte powder before applying makeup. Good luck.
You CAN'T get rid of oil skin. sorry. whatever you do though don't rub alcohol on your face every night, it will dry out your skin causing your oil glands to produce even more oil. that would be a dumb thing to do. Just wash your face 2 times a day, and blot with blotting sheets to absorb the oil or swipe it with some sheer powder.
I agree with so delicious!! You can also try this product. Works great!! I heard on a review, people said the bar soap helped her oily skin turn into normal skin.

    The site: http://www.clearandsmoothskin.com

    eBay store: http://myworld.ebay.com/clearandsmooth

I recommend you the bar soap. It's CHEAP!! It's addictive too!
well oily skin needs deeply oily facial cleanser...u have to wash 3 times per day..

or last choices stim ur face with lukewarm water using towel..
get a bottle of hydrogen peroxide and a bag of cotton balls. everynight hold a cottonball to the open end and tip the bottle over on to it for a second. swab your whole face and toss the cottonball. do it everynight
Take rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and rub it on the oily spots. And it doesnt burn either....Good luck.
Well girl the first thing you have to do is wash you face with clearisil. Second thing is using alcohal. Useing lemon juce. And my most such seccful porocside
wash with an oil control cleanser, follow with oil control toner or witch hazel, and use a oil free moisturizer

or use the porefection system by avon
BEST TIP!!!!!!!! I HAVE THE oilest/combination skin apply milk of magnesia on a cotton ball gently dab the oily areas they will stay matte and non oily for at least half of the day. dont apply to much cause it an look a little pasty unless you fair skin.this works because magnesium controls oil levels in the skin.
whatever you do, dont overwash your face as some of the answers have been suggesting. Washing your face too often will strip away natural oils that your skin NEEDS, and so it will produce more to compensate for those that have been stripped away. Too much scrubbing, washing and treating the skin will over stimulate it and irritate it. Wash twice a day, morning and evening with a gentle cleanser, follow with a tea tree/witch hazel toner, and then moisturise, i recommend clean and clear dual action moisturiser. Apply a clay mask once a week which will draw out impurities and absorb oils, queen helene mint julep mask is really good, if you live in the US you can get it at walgreens etc. If you live in the UK, have a look on ebay for it. If you cant find it, tescos do a purifying mask in a sachet in the skin wisdom range for about 97p. i also recommend MAC's blot powder, which you can get from www.maccosmetics.co.uk. hope this helps!

  • Oily skin.....?

I have very oily skin especially in my T-zone. I have tried alot of things to get rid of it and nothing seems to work. If you have home remedies, products, or whatever please let me know. thx.Oily skin.....?
I have found that a Toner/Astringent helps to control it longer in the day. I use Biore:

    http://www.biore.com/usa/products/produc鈥?/a>

This toner doesnt sting or have an 'alcohol' smell to it. Smells like watermelon and it makes your face feel fresh, its amazing.

Biore also has some ';shine control'; products (face wash, moisturizer) that you can check out.

Have you tried a clay mask once a week?:

    http://www.biore.com/usa/products/produc鈥?/a>

Here are the rest of the products: http://www.biore.com/usa/products/index.鈥?/a>

Queen Helene has a Mint Julep Mask that you can try out:

    http://www.queenhelene.com//skincaremask鈥?/a>

For us with oily skin remember dont OVER wash your face. That will just make it worse -- and you dont want that. Cleanse, tone and moisturize 2 times a day (day and night) .. and just use oil blotting sheets during the day (CVS brand, Biore or Clean and Clear). Thats really all you can do. Believe it or not your face needs those oils! I wish it didnt, but hey, we can try to keep it down a little at least!

    Hope that helps!Oily skin.....?
I have the same problem. Tell me what kind of answers you come up with.
hwat ever you do dont use oily hair spray or shampoo or anything cuz it can get on your skin
i heard salt mineral products work....but lol i tried it and dang my skin got more oily than before. i started to get pimples on my face when i never had pimples.

then i switched to just shower gel and lotion and other skin products from Usana. my skin is getting better. it's actually getting very smooth too from the shower gel. the shower gel feels great. if you want to try, you can order from http://livehappy.usana.com ... good luck!
I have oily skin also and this is how a typical day goes for me... I try to wash my face 2-5 times a day (when able of course). I start the day with ';Clean %26amp; Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser';; when i can throughout the day, I use Neutrogena Deep Clean Cream Cleanser. In the evening I'll combine St. Ives Apricot Scrub and a little bit of the Continuous Control. Each time you wash, try letting it sit on your face for about a minute or so.

Also, I will use Queen Helen's Mint Julep Masque once a week and Oil of Olay's Microdermabrasion once or twice a week (every 4 days or so). I know this seems like a lot to keep up with but once you get into the grind, it works. At least I can say that I works for me. After a coulple of weeks it become apart of your daily living. If you go with this, let me know how it works for you (thascorpionism03@yahoo.com). Take care.
    try using baby shampoo.

How can I help my oily skin without expensive products?

How can I make my skin less shiny and oily without paying a lot of money? How can I help my oily skin without expensive products?
I have very oily skin, especially my forehead, nose and cheekbone area. my skin is also very sensitive to products

Oily skin can be very sensitive, as most people might not realize. using the wrong products and cleansing the wrong way can cause breakouts as much as oiliness!

Treat your oily skin GENTLY, ive learned this the hard way.

you don't mention breakouts, though most oily skinned people do at least get the odd pimple here and there.

I suggest, wash your face no more that 2 x a day, anymore will cause irritation and extra oiliies! A cleanser that is oil-free is best, and one with no frgrance, a good one to try is

Free %26amp;Clear liquid cleanser, look for it online.. it works best for me, wash with your finger tips only, scrubbing can actually cause breakouts on some people (im one of them) during the middle of the day, use oil blotting papers to absorb the oil until you wash your face at night.if your THAT oily, skip the moisturizers, they'll just clog your pores, despite what people say! IF you have any 'dry' spots use the lightest shearest oil-free moisturizer you can find. and use it only there. for me it's my chin. and believe it or not Milk of Magnesia makes a good oil absorbing mask! the plain kind. look for a light sunblock, try different ones, an SPF of 15 at least. use that instead of moisturizer! why add extra grase on grease?

Wash your face with morning and night (only)

use oil absorbing sheets during the day.( I use several a day)

Skip creams (except on dry patches, if needed)

Use spf 15 sunblock when needed.(they all feel a bit greasy)

no scrubbing or too many washings (trust me there)

Try the MOM mask a few times a week.

Free %26amp;Clear is less than $8 bucks for an 8 oz bottle

it lasts over a month for me.

oh by the way, Bar Soap can really clog your pores, it contains animal fat! Free %26amp; Clear contains Glycerin.

if you have oily skin like mine, you can't change that, but you can control it to an extent. keep it simple and gentle.

P.S. most moisturizers contain the same things as the skins natural sebum, like Cholesterol, tryglycerides, fatty acids and oils

that's why I say avoid them! see what I mean??

the exception is a good sunblock that you can use. the sun causes wrinkles later in life!

Good luckHow can I help my oily skin without expensive products?
I used to have oily skin. But now i keep putting baby powder on it before i go to bed, and now all the oil has dissapeared. if you do that, i thin kit will remove the oil. try that! x Report Abuse

    you can use egg yolk

Don't use baby powder! That will only clog your pores!! Try oatmeal ar egg WHITES. I use only water on my face and if I ever get pimples, I put astringent on (like Sea Breeze). I NEVER put any soap on my face. Sounds gross? All your skin needs is water to stay clean. Report Abuse

the homemade facemask at least once a week helps too (oatmeal, milk, calamansi and egg white). Report Abuse

Please use Geen gram powder. By using this u shold wash ur face atleast 3 times. this will control ur oily skin Report Abuse

Reality is most of the 'expensive' products are expensive by brand name only.

Many of the most expensive or even medium expensive products are no different than the very very cheap choices. Including AVON, Mary Kay, etc.

Thats a fact from most chemist experts. Report Abuse

Apple Cider Vinegar is something that is often overlooked. It is excellent for any skin condition including oilyness and breakouts. Dab on full strength with cotton or dilute if you can't stand the smell. It works if you care enough to try it! Report Abuse

Start taking vitamin E and fish oil. They are wonderful for your skin.
St. Ives Apricot scrub...works for me.
eat oranges. honestly, they'll fix everything within a little bit.
i know you already have a bunch of anwswers to your question, but if you get done this far i have a little peice of advice for you.. if you are ever on the run and you see that your face has become really oily, and you dont want to spend your dollars on those oil abosorbing strips.. go into the bathroom and see if they have the toilet paper covers, they may not be cute and pretty but they have the same function as the oil absorbing papers.. just pull one out and pad it on your face. it's free and you dont have to worry about rubbing all your makeup off. you might think thats grose, but ive done it, and i didnt make it up... i read it.. somewhere. good luck!
I had the oiliest skin around and I could write my name on my face by the work. No one told me then that it was necessary to use moisturiser and wash often. Here's a story-take from it what you will-as a teenager I liked the look of my legs if I used hand creme on my legs. I oiled them up every day and they were really pretty. Years later, the skin on my legs is very dry and I must use something on my legs or they are so dry. I would go by an inexpensive moisturiser and wash my face often with good soap and always moisturise afterwards. I was advised to use all this stuff to clean my face but nothing cut the oil and still doesn't on my nose. There was a book written and I don't know who wrote it or what the name of it was but it was an inexpensive way to use household products and they were as good the better stuff. I'm sure it's still around and can be found with the internet and then the library. I still use a lot of St. Ives products altho I can afford more. I used to buy a very expensive scrub and their apricot scrub is just about as good. I also use their masks. It all helps to have good skin. The other thing that might help is to learn what products are actually worth the $ and then go to places like Marshall's and see what you come up with. I have found some fantasic stuff their from sugar free flavors, great clothes, and very interesting body products. Oh yea and the best, best facial soap. Try them. And T J Maxx etc. . .Oily skin is a lot of work to make look fresh. And the best powder I found was translucent loose Corn Silk for sopping up the oil without looking like I had heavy makeup on. Plus it has a little sparkle in it that I always liked. Just keep washing and moisturising. It will get there. And last is a real strange one but is great especially if you happen to have a lemon tree. I used lemon as an astringent. I would just cut one up after I cleaned my face and then rub it all over. Then rinse it off. Someone told me about it and I thought it was a joke but it worked. Clean and lemon juice-nothing else. Just recently on Oprah this woman was talking about using lemon on your face. It really clears it up and my skin looked so much better. No joke-I promise.
I'd say just wash your face a lot and don't touch your face a lot either. Some people in my school (and sometimes even me) will put toothpaste on their pimple so that it may burn it and help it to go away faster. They do wash it off though of course. If you want to use creams or other treatment, I use Pure Zone pore unclogging scrub cleanser, Mary Kay acne treatment gel, Clean %26amp; Clear morning burst, and Clearasil face pads. These methods all work really well. You can find most of these (I don't know if Mary Kay sales in stores, but i really doubt that they do) in grocery stores, skin care places, or places like Target. I would also suggest that when trying new products that you look on the back to see whether or not it has oil in it. If it does I would suggest not to use it because it will only lead to an even oilier face and I know you don't want that. :D
    Lauren,

All products expensive or inexpensive pretty much do the same thing on your skin. The fact that your skin is oily is a nutrition problem. Alum will draw excess oiliness, do not use alcohol of any kind and that includes most toners. Just keep the face extremely clean with a gel soap bar and stop eating oily foods and do drink your required 8-10 glasses of water daily. Use a mask at least once a week to deep clean the skin.
The best make-up that I have found for my oily skin is ';Bare Essential';. It is a bit expensive, but you can get them on QVC cheaper than at the stores. I try a sample, and now I can't leave without them, even in the heat of the summer you look fresh not grease. Always buy products for oily or combination skin.
When I was in college, a woman who was older and had pretty skin told me to use Oil of Olay daily ... I thought she was nuts! But I also figured, hey, I've tried everything else! So tried it. Go figure, after a week, I was sold on it and have been using it for years now. Try it for a week or two, it does wonders for oily skin.
I've dealt with an oily nose all my life, and I've tried everything in the stores with varying degrees of success, usually not effective at all. So I went searching the Internet and tried a few products, and I can GUARANTEE you that this product will do a great job on oily skin. It's Cuticura medicated soap. It's an antibacterial, and I think that's a big part of the reason it does so good. It's only $2 a bar, and shipping is only a few dollars (less than $5) if you use the USPS Standard shipping option. Stop wasting your money. (I've tried over 20 products) This will work like magic. I'm positive. Good luck.

    http://hocks.com/hocks_com_on_line_pharm…

I've had some success with Noxzema, but nothing comes close to Cuticura medicated soap.
    Hey Lauren.

I have really oily skin- trust me, I know how you feel. I've tried countless acne products over the years, but only one combination really works for me. I use the Clearasil Ultra Deep Pore Clean Pads (twice a day, before bed and when I wake up) to get rid of the oils on my face. Then, I use the Proactive Solution Repairing Lotion to get rid of tough pimples (once a day, before bed). Neither of them require washing your face repeatedly or using a special ';face brush'; to scratch all the skin on your face.

I know they can be a bit pricey, but I've had the same Proactive bottle for six months now, and the same Clearasil Wipes for about two months. They last a really long time, and are super effective without drying out your face.

Hope I helped, and good luck!
    Inexpensive?

    Blotting papers!
actually it's now proven that whatever you eat, even oil foods, doesn't affect your skin...so..but i would try some homemade products..or clean and clear shine control or w/e its called with the moring bursting beads..works great on me..and only cost like $3-$6....and the biore astringment or however u spell it..works great..
All other answers and techniques are about treating the surface. Try treating the inside out, or finding the root of the problem.

Try taking milk thistle extract ($5 Walmart). It cleans your liver and gets all the toxins out through waste instead of through your face.

Take 2 pills, twice a day for a week. Drink a lot of water and you'll be amazed. Your skin will look great.

Just try it for a week. Anything you put on your skin is simply after the damage has already been done. Oily skin and pimples are a result of an imbalance.
Believe it or not when I used to work for the bank, a customer came in and commented to a co-worker that her daughter was a model and to control acne and oily skin, she would use antacid, simply over-the-counter antacid. All she did was wash her face with it like regular soap.

Several days later her skin started to clear up and she admitted that she had been using the antacid.
Actually, if you wash your face too frequently (with non-moisturizing soap) then that tends to over-dry your skin. Because your skin is so dry, your body tries to compensate with producing more oils. This makes your skin shiny and oily. Also, stress will release lots of oils through your skin.
EVEENO always helped my oily skin and did a good job
I use Neutrogena and I am getting good results so far for only about $4 or $5. Don't use too much lotion on your face either because that makes it oily as well. I'm not saying you shouldn't use it but when you go to the store ask around and see if they could suggest what's a good lotion that won't make your face oily, I bet they'll recommend a few products that will help to make your skin less shiny and oily. Goodluck! =]
I have super oily skin too. What I use is the new oil-free Acne Stress Control Power-Foam Wash with MicroClear Technology by Neutrogena. It works wonders on acne.I saw results within days. Its great, and it costs a lot less then the acne treatments you see on tv.
rice paper seems to take oil away from the face
There is a clean and clear product out there. It is orange it comes in s shower gel type with a pump. You can buy it at any grocery store. (they have one for oily and also for sensitive skin)Also Make sure to use a cleanser @ night. Clean and clear also makes a cleanser. Make sure in the morning after you use the the shower cleanser use a light facial cream. Make sure its really light so as not to make you break out. Also Clean and clear makes an awesome pimple killer its a small tube its the next best thing to going to the dermatologist. Only use a dab of that on any blemishes. Do not over use this product because it can really hurt your skin. I wish I remembered the names. But they are all clean and clear. Also as long as you have a regular skin care system you will have great skin! Good luck
olive oil seems to work for me
idk how do you get rid of oily har??
    a light coating of flour
Use the old Ivory bar soap when you wash.
You can also use isopropal alcohol (don't drink it, as it is for external use only). I did this, and I also had a brush made for complexion, by Fuller. It kept the pores open. I do still use from time to time.
